SM Entertainment to debut new male group in March/April 2011

SM Entertainment announced on January 27th that they will debut a new male idol group in March or April of this year.
Currently working under the codename “M1” (the same name that SNSD worked under before their debut), netizens have been referring to them as ‘소년천지 (literally “Boy’s Heaven” or “Land of Boys”).
From speculations as to the exact identity and number of members to pinning their concept as the “next generation TVXQ,” the secret group’s popularity is quickly brimming over with promise. Though this is the first time that SME has ever officially acknowledged the existence of  “M1”, the buzz on internet boards has already reached such proportions that one would think this group was being anticipated for years.
With the promise of more information to come soon, SM Entertainment has also revealed plans to incorporate this new group into the OST of its co-production drama, “Paradise Ranch”. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, however.
The fans’ reactions to the news have been, to say the least, tremendous. Forums are flooded with comments like, “They’re coming, they’re coming! They’re really really coming!,” “Don’t toy with me SM!” and “Oh no, another male group- this time with kids born in 1992?”
With no additional information at the time, we guess we’ll just have to wait till March or April to see if this group is another SM match made in heaven or one that’ll have us saying “heaven help us.”

Members from every team were present in support of the contestants. The recording was completely closed to the press, however, due to the controversy surrounding the segment’s potentially sexually suggestive nature. Some had felt that the swimsuits worn by the female idols could be too much for younger viewers.
MBC had responded to the issue by assuring that the contestants would wear swimsuits adhering to regulations. Sports Chosun revealed that the ladies wore black one-piece suits with shorts, while the men wore tight legging-type swim pants, along with a tank top.

A gold medalist from the 2010 Guangzhau Asian Games, Jung Darae, also made a special appearance. Speaking of special appearances, managers on-set revealed that After School’s UEE was unable to attend, despite her enthusiasm for the event.
Check out the list of stars for the athletics portion here. The program is scheduled for broadcast February 5th and 6th.

Before the second concert in Singapore yesterday, the members had a press conference with the local media where they expressed their desire to bring the next edition, Super Show 4, to cities outside of Asia. Since the beginning of their Super Show concert tour begun back in 2008, the extravaganza has been confined to mainly east and southeastern countries in Asia.
The prolific group has plans to bring a brand new Super Show 4 showcase to the rest of the world “after the release of their fifth album” this year“, so says band leader Leeteuk, 27, when asked to share on the group’s plans and goals for 2011.
We won’t restrict it [Super Show 4] to only Asia“, he smilingly adds, during an interview with Xin MSN yesterday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Leeteuk and Heechul were also asked about the minor accident they got into. “As long as my fans are fine, we are fine,” Heechul coolly replied, grinning from ear to ear. Leeteuk chimed in, “In future for security reasons, we want fans to be careful and take care of themselves too.”
The Super Junior boys will regroup again next month for the Japan leg of their Super Show 3 concert tour from February 18 – 20th, and they will also head to the Philippines, Taiwan and Malaysia in the coming months before ending in Vietnam on May 7th.
